Deep within the White Cliffs of Dover are quite a few military tunnels, bunkers, rooms, shelters etc. Had a little group visit to see some of them recently. Thanks to everyone involved in organising a fantastic, if a little dirty, day out!

South Foreland Battery
A huge battery was built on the South Foreland area near Dover – basically guns, magazines, lookout towers, barracks, plotting rooms, and two deep shelters to protect the people stationed there…
The plotting room received information from the observation towers regarding enemy craft. This information was used to predict the courses of the craft; and those courses were given to the guns…
