This bunker was used by the nearby airfield and used as an operations room. During the 1980's, the local council took the bunker over and used it as an emergency centre.
As always, SubBrit has an excellent piece explaining what this place was for, and shows some interesting pre-fire photos.
The building is particularly un-inspiring, and hidden by a ton of undergrowth.
In recent years some arsonists set fire to a small store room. The smoke has seriously damaged a lot of the building.
Some offices on the edge of the control room. Some were used by RAYNET (an amateur emergency radio network) in recent years.

There was a large selection of old radio and electronic equipment store inside. Sadly some vandals have got in and smashed a lot up
