I visited this building a few years ago and god it is eerie, but this building deserves to be saved the gothic looking architecture is amazing, it would make a fantastic home and if I won the lottery I would buy it for its superb glory. It's very sad to see it deteriorate so quickly, action needs to be taken now before it's too late.

Went here a couple of weeks ago (July 2011). There are a few metal fences blocking off access at the front, but it was dead easy to get round the side of these and get onto the site. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to get inside the building as it looked like some of the windows had been recently re-boarded - no gaps!

Still, it's an amazing building, full of that eerie charm that Victorian architects seem to do so well and there's plenty to see outside. There was a sign up saying it was going to be auctioned, so maybe this one won't be around for too much longer?

Unfortunately, this is now blocked with metal fences and most of the windows are sealed off. With a bit of garden hopping, it might be possible to get around the side of the grounds. Only investigated it at night so haven't given it a go, yet.

How can you get in?
I keep being told it's easy... but everywhere seems to be boarded up.

Went here on Monday. Very windy; rattled the remaining blinds about quite a bit ! Beautiful old building, some gorgeous archways, etc. Much bigger inside than we first thought too.....quite disorientating in the semi-dark....(forgot the head torches !)

Took the kids up there this week to try and scare them a bit! Its where their great grandparents died and their Nan (also dead) worked, but they weren't scared one bit! Bloody modern generation - desensitised!! Sad to say its a bit bleak round there, and signs of heroin addicts round the back on the sort of tiled patio area.Planning permission for it to be converted into houses and flats has been passed but it is being held up because the council want some to be Affordable Housing!!Ahh well!
