Framlingham Mill was owned by J. Bibby Agriculture and closed in 2005. It was a feed mill – meaning it made feed for animals such as pigs. Production and workers were moved to the company’s mills in Bury St Edmunds and Wolsingham.
Had a quick explore of the main building – a hot day mixed with tons of pigeon crap doesn’t make for pleasant exploring!
The outside of the mill is relatively standard agri-industry style – huge flimsy metal-clad buildings.
Inside was full of metal girders and machinery. There wasn’t really much to see, and I didn’t fancy climbing to higher levels.
I like control rooms. This one was no exception – it was tiny, gloomy and had tons of buttons. Yay.
In one part of the building were a few little laboratories, presumably for testing the quality of products/ingredients.

I only hope that Hopkin homes soon develop the site. It really is a massive blot on the landscape. Lord knows just how many tons of asbestos are on the site.I shall not shed a tear when they pull it down, hopefully to be replaced with affordable housing for mr j. public, and not lord rich from london!!
