Great Tattenhams Methodist Church was built in 1953. At around the same time, another church was built nearby – St Mark’s. Both were extended in the 1960s to cope with increased need. In 2000 it was proposed to unite the two, as the Methodist Church’s maintenence costs rose. In 2004 it gave it’s final service.
There are now plans to build 20 two-bedroom flats on the site…
Inside was strange. One chapel was pretty much complete, except for a bit of rubbish strewn about.
The other chapel had been stripped of it’s floor. Recently..
Other bits…

I use to go this church from about 1957- 1970 and also attended the Youth Club. Three of us have made contact just recently. Very sorry to have driven passed and seen it all boarded up. Thanks for the web page and the memories
I am so sad to see that Great Tattenhams Methodist Church has experienced its last services. This is where I grew up, and I always hoped to return after many years in the U.S.A.
I will always have fond memories.

Hello,
I’m interested in photographing Great Tattenhams Methodist Church, does anyone know if it is still standing an available to use?
