ROC posts – Linton, Arrington & Botesdale

Another quick round up ROC posts that I’ve recently visited.

ROC posts were small underground observation posts to monitor nuclear fallout during the Cold War. Around 1600 were built, but many have since been demolished/filled in/flooded. Some remain intact, but welded shut. And some are open..

This one is locked.

Linton – Cambridge 28

Visited one night whilst passing (so no external photos – but you can probably guess what it looks like using the other pics). The hatch was slightly knackered. Inside was a mess of Christmas decorations, but there were a few interesting bits.

Botesdale

And this one is welded shut.
